What have we been doing this week?
This week was focused on feedback we wanted to get data back in order to get ideas for our music video. We used a questionnaire to gain qualitative data, we were looking for lengthy and detailed responses. We made sure the questionnaire was only given to those who fitted the target group criteria. This allowed us to keep our research relevant.
We started research for our two ancillary products; the digipak and poster. We looked at pre-existing digipaks and posters and had to analyze them. I picked a digipak from Beyonce's album sasha fierce and a poster for Drake's album 'More Life'. It was interesting to see the type of conventions used in posters and digipaks and be able to analyse them in detail. I began thinking about the types of images and typography I would use on mine.
What key concepts have you been focusing on this week?
The key concepts we have been focusing on have mainly been regarding target audience. We briefly discussed target audience on week 3 but this week we filmed and edited our focus group footage and were required to make a blog post analyzing results as well as create a page about our ideal audience member. We included (Age, Gender, Interests, Ethnicity and Location) AGILE however in lots more detail so for example; what progranmmes they would watch, their types of friends, where they would shop and what they would do in their spare time.
How will this impact your final video?
This will impact our final video as it will help us to understand the types of things we should include based on the feedback we received. We will need to discuss ways in which our final product would relate to our target audience.
