What have you been doing this week?
This week we started production and filmed the classroom shots, we did this during lunchtime. It was hard to film at times as the cast appeared distracted and it was hard to get them to continue focusing also we had a lot of distractions from other teachers and pupils entering the room. However this did not significantly hinder progress as we filmed quite a couple very clear shots. We aimed to shoot as much as possible so we could have a lot of content to work with when it came to editing. During lesson, when we reviewed the footage using FinalCutPro, the shots appeared clear however the sound in some clips was distorted. We noted down the shots that would need to be refilmed and are currently considering when to film.
What key concepts have you been focusing on?
The key concept we are focusing on is sound. We have to consider the use of digetic and non digetic sounds. The main sound will be the music, however at the start there is some dialogue and we are considering whether or not to keep or discard this. Also we discussed how to make sure sound is clear when we refilm.
What decisions and revisions have you made?
In relation again to sound, we have decided to film shots during free periods rather than lunchtimes as this would reduce the amount of distraction from lower school pupils and consequently, limit the amount of excess noise making the sound appear clearer and also, this could help with focus which is important as increased focus will increase our work rate which will allow us to move on quicker to other things.
